A first class care service cannot be achieved without an excellent support team focussing on the non care element of the service. Frequently the non care functions are seen as less important and supplementary to the care service. At Cestreham House the non care services are considered every bit as vital as the care provision. Clean and well maintained premises set the ethos of the service and therefore the housekeeping and maintenance teams will be carefully selected. Any eye for detail and genuine compassion for the residents will be the key qualities of our staff in these departments.
For many patients meal times will be a very important time of the day from both a social and nutritional perspective. There will be a range of special diets and cultural requirements to consider when creating and delivering menus. This is also one of the key areas where profoundly disabled or ill people can still have choice and control. A forward planned menu with a range of choices will be available. A highly skilled and experience chef manager will be recruited to manage the catering team.

Laundry services contribute to the dignity and respect of residents. Lost items, discoloured or unironed personal clothing represents a slap-dash attitude which is seen so often in hospitals and care facilities. Managing the laundry team will be a demanding and challenging role and, as with the catering team, demands the skills of staff who care about the people to whom we will be providing a service.
